Susan Harper is a seasoned professional in substance use disorder and mental health, with over 15 years of experience. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Auburn University and master’s degrees in both Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. A Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Alabama and Certified in Health Care Compliance (CHC), Susan has a strong background in clinical and regulatory excellence. She began her career in behavioral health in 2009, serving in various roles across multiple locations and levels of care for over a decade before founding her own behavioral health consulting company. Before joining the team at Longleaf in October 2023, Susan was employed as a Clinical Compliance Specialist with the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, where she played a key role in the organization’s development and strategic planning. Susan has a proven track record of data-driven decision-making, informative training techniques, and leadership skills to improve quality of care, develop personnel, and achieve organizational success.
