Frequently Asked Questions

Recovery and wellness are often achieved differently by those who participate in our programs. At Longleaf Recovery & Wellness, we understand that with substance use and mental health disorders come questions. As no two clients are alike, we’re here to offer the most information and support. Here are some of our most frequently asked questions. If your question does not appear below, please 205.813.7400give us a call for more information.

It is the cornerstone of our philosophy to provide our clients with the highest quality services. Our group and individual therapists are masters-level clinicians and licensed by the state. We employ a full-time psychiatric nurse practitioner and our medical director is boarded as a psychiatrist and addictionologist. Additionally our programs are certified by the Alabama Department of Mental Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. More information about our Joint Commission accreditation can be found here.

Making decisions about treatment can be challenging and complex, so we are happy to consult with individuals and their families to discuss their particular situation and to develop a plan that meets their needs, even if that plan does not include any of our programs. Please contact our admission coordinator to schedule a time to meet with one of our staff.

We encourage all of our clients to participate in some type of peer-led recovery program. This can include 12-Step organizations such as Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous but it can also include Smart Recovery, Recovery Dharma, or NAMI Connection. While we might discuss particular concepts from these peer-led organizations, you are able to participate in the organization that best suits your individual needs.

We absolutely encourage participation by family and others in your support network. Providing weekly updates to those closest to you allows us to make adjustments to the aspects of your treatment that are most meaningful. Your treatment will include therapy sessions with you and your loved ones. In addition, we suggest family members attend our weekly family support group that is provided as a complimentary service for anyone in the community. If you would like more information about our family support group, please click here.

Sometimes it is difficult to know what aspect of a person needs a treatment focus. This is why all of our programs take an individualized, holistic approach that includes addressing mental health issues. Our complimentary phone assessment will allow us to determine more specifically which program is best suited for a particular individual.

Yes, we are able to accept most commercially available insurance policies. Since individual policies can be different even with the same carrier, we are happy to complete a verification of benefits prior to your decision to engage in services with us. Unfortunately we do not accept Medicaid or Medicare, but please contact us to discuss what options may be available to you.
